Infrastructure upgrading works between Ponte San Pietro and Bergamo

The railway network manager RFI has closed the line section between Bergamo and Ponte San Pietro for significant infrastructure enhancement works. Consequently, trains will only operate between Milan and Ponte San Pietro, and between Lecco and Ponte San Pietro.
Trenord has arranged for substitute bus services between Ponte San Pietro and Bergamo with a stop at Bergamo Hospital.
From September 9th the replacement bus service called “point-to-point” will resume, now enhanced with trips to and from Calolziocorte.
Trains run from Milano Porta Garibaldi to Ponte San Pietro, with replacement buses available from Ponte San Pietro to Bergamo.

As laid out in the Conditions of Travel, which govern the relationship between travellers and Trenord on the basis of the Service Contract signed with the Lombardy Region, in the case that train trips are provided by replacement buses, additional services, such as group transport, are not guaranteed.
On buses, you can only transport folding bicycles, scooters, monowheels and other vehicles no larger than 80 x 120 x 45 cm. All vehicles must be stored – closed, if foldable, and turned off – where indicated by the bus driver. Non-folding bicycles are not permitted on buses.
Tickets purchased via the web or app do not require validation. To validate a ticket from a digital multi-journey carnet, simply tap it on the app at the beginning of the journey. However, validation machines are active in the stations to validate rechargeable tickets and activate rail passes on electronic cards.

The bus drivers select the route based on real-time road traffic conditions, but they always stop at the intermediate stops laid out in the timetable.
