Lake Como First Basin Tour by train
Lower Lake Como (or "Primo Bacino di Como") is an area dotted with tiny villages and elegant villas, all just waiting to be discovered, and which offer views worthy of a postcard. The best way to discover these territories is undoubtedly by boat, which every day conveniently and quickly connects the provincial capital with the towns of Cernobbio (famous for Villa d'Este and Villa Erba), Moltrasio and the picturesque village of Torno .
This incredible Lake Como excursion can be reached by train, thanks to Trenord: with the "Tour del Primo Bacino di Como" train+boat Gite in Treno special package, you can travel to Como from any station in Lombardy and then enjoy free use of the Navigazione Laghi boats that run in the lower lake area, including ports between Como and Torno.

USEFUL INFORMATION
PURCHASE
The special ticket can be purchased on the Trenord website or app, at the ticket offices, via the self-service machines, and at Trenord retailers.
The special ticket must be used on the day chosen at the time of purchase, does not require validation and, if purchased ONLINE, does not need to be printed.
USE
The Trenord train ticket included in the "TOUR DEL PRIMO BACINO DI COMO" package can only be used for a return journey in second class on Trenord trains. The train ticket cannot be used on the Malpensa Express airport service or on services offered by other railway companies.
The ticket can be used by a single person, adult or child, depending on the type of ticket purchased.
The ticket offers direct access to the boats. To use the rapid boat service, you must pay an extra fee at a Navigazione Laghi on-land ticket office.
CHANGES
The travel date on special tickets cannot be changed.
REFUNDS
The special ticket “Tour del Primo Bacino di Como” is not refundable.
INSPECTIONS
If requested, show the ticket to Trenord staff. If you purchased your ticket online, simply show the digital version on your smartphone.
GROUPS
For groups of more than 20 people, before purchasing the tickets, you should check if the train and boat are available by contacting comitive@trenord.it and infocomo@navigazionelaghi.it respectively.
HOW TO GET TO COMO
- From any station in Lombardy, travel to a station on the COMO-SARONNO-MILANO RE7/R17 lines and take any train towards COMO LAGO (journey time: 60 minutes from Milano Cadorna), then disembark and take the Navigazione Laghi boat to Torno; the pier is just a few minutes' walk from the station.
- Alternatively, travel to a station on the LOCARNO-LUGANO-CHIASSO-MILANO CENTRALE RE80 line, take any train towards Locarno, and get off at COMO SAN GIOVANNI (journey time: 39 minutes from Milano Centrale). Once you reach your destination, head for the Navigazione Lago di Como pier (15 minutes on foot) and take the boat to Torno.
- Alternatively, travel to a station on the CHIASSO-COMO-MONZA-MILANO S11 line, take any train towards Chiasso, and get off at COMO SAN GIOVANNI (journey time: 60 minutes from Milano Porta Garibaldi). Once you reach your destination, head for the Navigazione Lago di Como pier (15 minutes on foot) and take the boat to Torno.
