Update "Official timetable of the railway service in Lombardy"

The usual update of the “Railway Service in Lombardy” timetable will come into force on Sunday 15 December.

New activations, additions and route extensions are planned.

Also in 2025 the railway infrastructures – RFI and FN – will be affected by significant enhancement works, with the aim of improving the regularity and reliability of the service, which will be communicated with subsequent notices on the Trenord website and App.

The updates that will come into force from Sunday 15 December are already reported in the “Timetable Search” section on the trenord.it website and on the official Trenord App. The timetables displayed in the stations will be updated starting from December 15th.

Below is a summary of the main new features divided by route.

 

Line: Milan – Domodossola

The following will be activated, with a regular timetable of the line and daily frequency,

new trains:

• RE 2428 (Mi Centrale p. 14.25 – Domodossola a. 16.04):
• RE 2433 (Domodossola p. 15.56 – Mi Centrale a. 17.35).

 

Instead, train RE 2437, departing from Domodossola at 17.56, will arrive at Milano Centrale at 19.35, instead of Milano Porta Garibaldi.

Trains 10220 (Mi p.ta Garibaldi p. 09:40 – Arona a. 10:45) and 10225 (Arona p. 12:15 – Mi p.ta Garibaldi a. 13:25) will run every day.

Further changes for R trains that will undergo timetable changes within 9 minutes.

 

Line: Luino – Gallarate – Milan

The following new trains will be activated and run on weekdays excluding Saturdays:

• R 25309 (Luino p. 13.19 – Bring Garibaldi to me. 14.58)
• R 25304 (Mi Porta Garibaldi p. 17.05 – Luino a. 18.43).

(not available from 25.12.2024 to 06.01.2025 and from 03.08 to 24.08.2025).

 

Line: Milan – Lecco – Tirano

The following trains will arrive/depart respectively in/from Tirano instead of Tresenda-Aprica-Teglio:

• RE 2818 (Mi Centrale p. 9.20 – Tirano a. 11.52)
• RE 2827 (Tirano p. 12.08 – Mi Centrale at 14.40).

 

Trains 2822, 2830 and 2823 will be rescheduled and will run according to the timetable already in force for the other trains on the line.

Trains R 10296 (Sondrio p. 17.50 – Tirano at 18.32) and 10297 (Tirano p. 19.24 – Sondrio at 20.06), will run on weekdays (including Saturdays) instead of daily.

 

Line: Milan – Bozzolo – Mantua

The following new trains will be activated, with periodicity daily:

• RE 2159 (Mi Centrale p. 9.15 – Cremona a. 10.23);
• RE 2168 (Cremona p. 12.30 – Mi Centrale a.13.40).

 

Line: Verona – Brescia – Milan

The following new trains will be activated and will run on Saturdays and holidays:

• RE 2691/2692 (Mi Porta Garibaldi p. 6.43 – Bolzano a. 10.57) stops at: Milan Lambrate 6.56/58 – Pioltello L. 7.04/05 – Treviglio 7.18/20 – Romano 7.29/30 – Chiari 7.38/39 – Rovato 7.43/44 – Brescia 7.56/58 – Desenzano 8.15/16 – Peschiera del Garda 8.25/26 – Rovereto 9.47/48 – Trento 10.09/10 – Mezzocorona 10.23/24 – Ora10.41/42.
• RE 2697/2698 (Bolzano p. 16.56 – Mi Porta Garibaldi a. 20.55) stops at: Ora 17.08/09 – Mezzocorona 17.24/25 – Trento 17.37/46 – Rovereto 18.01/02 – Peschiera del Garda 19.03/04 – Desenzano 19.12/13 – Brescia 19.32/34 – Rovato 19.44/45 – Chiari 19.49/50 – Romano 19.58/59 – Treviglio 20.09/11 - Pioltello L. 20.24/25 – Milano Lambrate 20.35/37.

 

The following new trains will run on weekdays (except Saturdays):

• RE 2693/2694 (Mi Porta Garibaldi p. 6.43 – Bolzano a. 10.31) stops at: Milano Lambrate 6.56/58 – Pioltello L. 7.04/05 – Treviglio 7.18/20 – Romano 7.29/30 – Chiari 7.38/39 – Rovato 7.43/44 – Brescia 7.56/58 – Desenzano 8.15/16 – Peschiera del Garda 8.25/26 – Rovereto 9.30/31 – Trento 9.44/45 – Mezzocorona 9.55/56 – Time 10.12/13.
• RE 2695/2696 (Bolzano p. 16.56 – Mi Porta Garibaldi a. 20.55) stops at: Time 17.08/09 – Mezzocorona 17.24/25 – Trento 17.37/46 – Rovereto 18.01/02 – Peschiera del Garda 19.03/04 – Desenzano 19.12/13 – Brescia 19.32/34 – Rovato 19.44/45 – Chiari 19.49/50 – Romano 19.58/59 – Treviglio 20.09/11 – Pioltello L. 20.24/25 – Milano Lambrate 20.35/37.

 

Trains RE 2621 (Milano Centrale p. 10.25 – Verona P.N. a. 12.17) and 2630 (Verona  P.N. p.12.43 – Mi Centrale a. 14.35) will run on Saturday and Sunday and holidays.

 

Line: Milan – Pavia – Stradella

From December 15th they will also stop at Milan Forlanini, with a change in timetable2’ between Milan Lambrate and Milan Greco Pirelli. The exception is train 10492.

 

Line: Brescia – Iseo – Edolo

From 15 December, train R 1921 (Edolo p. 6:43 – Brescia a. 9:05), will also stop at Sonico.

 

Line: Milan – Seveso – Asso

From 15 December, the following trains will also stop at Caslino d’Erba:

R 2679 (Milan Cadorna p. 19.39 – Asso a. 21.01).

From 28 April 2025, the following trains will also stop at of Caslino d’Erba:

R 1673 (Milano Cadorna p.18.39 – Asso a. 20.00).

 

Line: Albate – Chiasso

From 15 December, train S10 25158 will depart from Como Camerlata, instead of Como S.G., on weekdays except Saturdays.

In addition, the new train S10 25152 (Como S. G. p. 7.10 – Chiasso a. 7.17) will be activated and will run on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Train S10 25157 (Chiasso p. 6.47 – Como S.G. a. 6.54) will instead travel on weekdays Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, instead of daily.

 

Line: S12 Melegnano – Milano Bovisa

From December 15, the service will be increased to ensure a semi-hourly schedule on the line, which will run on the Melegnano-Milano Bovisa section.

Between Milano Bovisa and Cormano-Cusano Milanino, trains on the S2 and S4 lines will remain confirmed with 4 trains every hour.

 

Line: S13 Pavia – Milano Bovisa – Garbagnate M.

From December 15, trains on this line, between Milano Bovisa and Garbagnate will stop only at Bollate Centro.

Stops will be suspended at the stations of Garbagnate P.G., Bollate N. and M. Quarto O,

which will continue to be served by the S1 and S3 lines with a train every 15 minutes.

 

Line: Milan Cadorna – Varese FN – Laveno M. Lago

In order to complete the cadence on the line, the following changes will be made:

Line: S5 Varese – Milan – Treviglio

From 15 December, an improvement in the evening service is planned by extending the service range, as follows:

• S5 24583 departing from Varese at 22.12 will arrive in Treviglio at 0.20;
• S5 24585 departing from Varese at 22.42 will arrive in Milan P.G. at 23.55;
• S5 24584 departing from Treviglio p. 23.10 will arrive in Gallarate at 0.53;
• S5 24580 departing from Treviglio at 22.10 will arrive in Varese at 0.18;

 

The replacement bus 580 A (Gallarate p. 0.00 – Varese a. 0.30), will no longer be operatedo.

 

In addition, the following new trains will be activated:

• R 24508 (Gallarate p. 5.53 – Varese a. 6.18);
• R 24587 (Varese p. 23.12 – Gallarate a. 23.37);
• R 24586 (Treviglio p. 23.40 – Mi Certosa a. 0.44).
