Tirano is a town a few kilometers from the Swiss border, famous above all as the starting point of the Bernina Express, managed by the Rhaetian Railway. We are also close to the ski slopes of the Aprica ski areas and in an area where the proposals for sporting activities are numerous. There is no shortage of ideas for a more cultural visit, for example to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Tirano or the Rock Engravings Park.
In Colico the Adda river enters Lake Como, here it is possible to do numerous sporting activities on the lake, such as windsurfing and kitesurfing, or diving in the bay of Olgiasca. If you prefer a quieter activity, you can organize a visit to the Abbey of Piona or, for nature lovers, to the Pian di Spagna Reserve.
Excursions into nature are also possible in Bellano, in particular to visit the Orrido di Bellano or along the Sentiero del Viandante.
Varenna was a fishing village, with a long history from the Middle Ages to today, which has become one of the most renowned villages on Lake Como. Villas, gardens and churches, but also paths, such as the Ring of the Vezio Castle or the Greenway of the Patriarchs, or restaurants and clubs: in Varenna there is an activity for everyone.
In the city of Lecco, in addition to the lakefront of the southern branch of Lake Como, you can visit the historic center, rich in architecture from various eras, from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Do not forget the fact that Lecco is the theater of Alessandro Manzoni's Promessi sposi and here it is still possible to find some traces of the city told by the writer in his famous novel.
Monza is the city of Formula 1: every year, one of the most anticipated stages of the championship takes place in the Monza circuit. The racetrack can be visited and many activities are organized for those who love engines and the adrenaline of racing. For those who prefer to relax in nature, there is the Park of the Reggia di Monza, the largest park enclosed by walls in Europe. Inside the park you can simply sunbathe, ride a bike, walk or visit the farms. We cannot talk about Monza without mentioning the Villa Reale, a neoclassical style building that can be visited, where exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events are held.
